Maurice Shehata Oud:
Maurice is the son of Farouk Shehata the Emperor of the Oud industry in Egypt . Whilst he was a kid , his father taught him the art of Oud-Making professionally and skillfully until he mastered this art . His father was really the best Oud-Maker to the extent that he was considered the Fourth Pyramid of Egypt , he was practicing this handicraft for more than forty years and was specialized in constructing the Ouds of the most prominent musicians , among these were Om Kolthoum , El Sonbaty , El Kasabgy , El Mougy , George Micheal , Baleegh Hamdy , Ammar El Shere'y , Sayed Mekkawy , Talal Maddah , Mohammed Abd El Wahab and Serag Omar .
In his capacity as the "Artists' Oud-maker" , his work was a real state-of-the-art and was distinguished by its fine construction , melodious tones and strength .
All these invaluable technical experiences that he acquired during his lifetime were then passed to his son .
Besides his school , Maurice was able to learn , love and adore this art . His strong passion towards this handicraft helped in releasing his creative capabilities to the extent that he was given a unique title ; The Artists' Oud-Maker .
He learnt at the hands of his father . Then he equipped himself with the international standards from Europe. He learnt how to control the tone of the Oud before constructing it , thus constructing Ouds that produce high pitch or very loud or deep or deep rich loud tones .
The international standards that he learnt from England , Germany and Switzerland provided him with the freedom he needs in constructing the Ouds and in controlling their tones before the constructing process .
Based on this , Maurice was able to meet all the tastes
of his clients whether they are artists , professionals
or all those who are interested in the art of Oud-making
in the entire Arab World . His father paid great
attention to the quality of the sound , strength and the
finishing
For this reason , Maurice rushed into the European world
seeking every piece of info . After that , he mixed all
the international theories he learnt with the experience
he inherited from his father and the result was the
unique genuine style of his instruments.

he is dealing with 90% of the artists in Egypt and the
